Hey, hey!!
I know it's been a really long time, but I just got a new (used) book that has some writing exercises in it. i thought it might be fun to try this out, get those creative vibes going!
Prompt: You have been offered a good sum of money to pose in the nude for a popular magazine. You want the money and the 15 minutes of fame or notoriety. Write 4 letters: 1. to the magazine, accepting the offer 2. to your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner 3. to your parents 4. to a friend.
this is meant to see if and how your voice changes when writing to different people.
happy writing!!!

prompt...perhaps
hello all ye faithful followers
so was thinking, now that i'm unemployed and by myself (marko left yesterday) i have even more time on my hands, which i translate into time to overwhelm the web with my thoughts. so i was thinking, perhaps, we could really get something going on this here blog.
so how about this: describe a character in detail from the physical to the social to the psychological. give us a good impression of who this person is or how this person presents themselves to the outside world. this person can be real or a figment of your imagination.
i think if we start by building a character, we may be inspired to build a story about what happened, happens or will happen to that character. and bing bang boom you're writing. want to try it?

hello december
hello december, you've come so quickly. i'm awake in the wee hours of the morning because my parents are getting ready for work (and i sleep out in the parlor...at least for now while marko is here--he sleeps in my room). my dad is cooking up some smoked meat and i'm trying desperately not to freak out. i'm in my parents house again. soon marko will be gone and it will be me and the folks, alone. it feels so 2000 and late. i'm hoping to get a job here doing pretty much anything to make a buck (if that sounds desperate, that's because it is). i'm thinking i could wiggle into some temporary spot they open up especially for the holiday season. who knows ah, but hello december, i've been here before, the question is, what am i going to do now?

welcome
hello friends!
i write from my parents' computer in the mountains of waimea. the scene is as different as you may imagine and beautifully so. well, some asked for writers bloc, and so i've set this up. it will be nothing without the rest of you. i look forward to basking in your creative energy even from afar. i wish everyone the best and let's start writing!
i'm putting no restrictions on this, so if you have a piece you want to share and would like feedback, post it here, if you just feel like rambling that's fine too and if you have a good exercise or writing prompt that's more than welcome. see you all in the virtual world.
